As I was searching for the perfect stiletto heel, I found myself completely off track searching for the perfect leather flat. My newsfeed has been filled with the Chanel Espadrilles and as much as I’d love to get a pair – I don’t want to hop on that bandwagon. So I went on the search to find the perfect pair of leather flats, whether they be slides, slip-ons or espadrilles. I was a girl on a mission. My goal was to find a pair that I hadn’t seen before or something that is so typically a blogger item. I finally came across a pair just yesterday and I just couldn’t say no! Wittner has always been my go-to footwear brand that continuously makes high quality, long-lasting leather shoes that are to die for. I’d gone through all the options on the internet when I started to hunt for the perfect leather espadrille or slip-on at the shops yesterday… It is so so rare that I will actually spend time shopping as let’s be honest – isn’t it so much better shopping from the comfort of your bed whilst watching your favourite TV show? That’s what I call multi-tasking at it’s best.
My Instagram feed is filled with bloggers and shops so of course I had seen the perfect Chanel espadrille, Seed Heritage espadrilles and of course the versions in Zara and Topshop like the ones below however, I wanted to find something a little different! Maybe something that was a bit of my peachy style?
It came to my attention through research the other night that there can be lots of problems with the soles and straw used for these types of footwear so I tried to avoid straw (or generally espadrille) if I could. I was casually walking around yesterday searching for something that would stand out… Of course, I ended up in Wittner where I found exactly what I was looking for. They aren’t just a plain leather, they have a little character with the cross-over detailing and have a rubber sole so no straw for me! I decided to go down a size with these and get a 37 so they are a little more snug. Leather always stretches and I could just see my feet swimming in the 38s after a few weeks! There was no questioning this purchase when I walked around in these shoes for just a minute. It was one of those “I have to have these” moments!
Tonight I’m going out for dinner with some girlfriends and this is my outfit of choice! I’m wearing a grey roll neck jumper, leather jogger pants and leather slip-ons.
I think I’ll be living in these from now on.
What are your thoughts on the espadrille or slip-on?
