summer basics

The weather is finally warming up and I can’t help but start building my wardrobe for the summer. I’ve had my eye on these shorts for a little while and knew they would be one of my staple pieces for this coming season…

There’s something about chambray that screams beaches, late nights with friends and just being totally chilled out. This outfit will be one of my go-to’s this summer as I can just imagine being completely relaxed and comfortable in the Melbourne heat!
Stripes and chambray have been hanging around for a few summers now and stripes certainly became a massive trend last summer. However, I find black and white stripes quite harsh against the skin especially as an everyday basic – I definitely prefer the softer tones from this striped tee. I am all for a statement piece at night time with black and white stripes but when it comes to the day, I prefer to keep to this simple grey and white stripe. As Melbourne is still a little chilly, I thought I’d add this beautiful lightweight coat from St Frock that is only $69! A beautiful piece that will certainly act like the perfect windbreaker jacket. I also love wearing this coat with just a basic white tee & skinny black jeans!

I can’t wait to wear more chambray, greys and white this summer. Hello new colour palette!

Is grey the new black?
