So it’s Happy New Year and all that jazz just a few weeks late but I’m breaking my rules a little bit and branching out into blue denim…

Okay, so I’ve been a little MIA lately… Well, pretty much completely MIA unless you follow me on Instagram and would see a couple of my posts every now and then. I’ve had a much needed and unplanned break from the blog and I’m ready to go back into it full ball! There’s a part of me that wanted to be blogging all that time but I was lacking motivation and inspiration. It happens to all of us, some days it’s just a little hard to get out of bed or extremely hard and you’re left wondering, what went wrong? Well, for me, it was a lack of Vitamin D and Iron thanks to my job and dislike of red meat. A few lifestyle changes, a different mindset and waking up every morning thinking “today is amazing” led me to this post.
I saw this denim skirt on my Instagram a few weeks back and it was one of those “I need this skirt” moments. When I had a look online to see it was only $79.95, I was in store the next day and this beauty was mine. I thought I’d make this a two part series by styling this skirt for both night and day. Today’s look is my casual OOTD perfect for these mild, summer days.
Cameo’s Static Pinstripe Tank has been worn at least three times a week and I’m not afraid to hide it. Stripes are so on-trend at the moment and there’s something about the mixture of fine and bold stripes that makes it stand out from your regular striped top! There’s no need to stress about the stripe trend fading away because it’s certainly sticking around for our SS15. I chose to tuck the tank into the skirt a little so I created more of a shape as the whole oversized, baggy look does not work with my body shape! Secondly, I’m one to pair heeled boots with this skirt due to it’s length. I find that my legs just look 100x better with heels if I’m wearing a midi length skirt. Boots also help create the perfect, Autumn look and voila… I’ve got the most adaptable daytime outfit ready for the next few months. I can see myself wearing this outfit with an bomber jacket for the cooler days in Autumn or a maxi coat for Winter. Who’s excited for AW15? ME!
Much Love,
